Welcome to Baker Bariatrics!
Hello and welcome! If you are visiting a bariatric site for the first time, congratulations on taking a very important step into health - even if it's just tossing the idea around after trying another weight loss program or diet, finding yourself back where you started on that scale, in a cycle that seems to never end. I absolutely know that of the 4000 plus patients who have trusted me as their surgeon on their weight loss journey over the years, most are the greatest of dieters - many having lost hundreds of pounds over the years before coming to the place of considering bariatric surgery. It's not about the weight loss...it's about losing the weight and being able to keep that weight off over the long-term. Obesity, and morbid obesity, is a multi-factorial disease. It is genetic, social, and environmental, just to name a few of the factors. With this in mind, some people are just predisposed to obesity and with that, are more subject to the risk factors and co-morbid conditions associated with obesity. Bariatric surgery offers a tool to help to even the playing field and to allow those who just cannot lose the weight they need to be healthier, as well to help them to keep that weight off. The American Medical Association recognizes bariatric surgery, coupled with diet and exercise, to be the best treatment for morbid obesity - and bariatric surgery changes lives! I've seen time and time again the impact it has made on thousands of my patients over the years - literally transformation before my eyes and leading to so many new and exciting bucket lists! From climbing Mount Killamangaro to running a marathon to just going to the State Fair and being able to fit and enjoy a ride - it all is significant and I so am rewarded hearing the stories and seeing the empowerment that my patients feel and experience.
So, if you are wondering if bariatric surgery might be the right option for you, or if our non-surgical program seems like a better fit, please give my office a call and we'll talk about options We can get you the information and answer any questions to get you started in your own journey into health, whether that surgery or a non-surgical approach. I sincerely mean it when I ask "How can I help?" We are all in a place of healing from these past few year - and if obesity is your struggle, it would be our privilege to assist you with that journey. I know a thing or two because this has been my life's work and passion for the past 20 years.
Stay healthy and happy!
