Welcome 2021!
I think we all are breathing a cautious sigh or relief as we close the chapter on 2020. With a vaccine on the horizon, I, as a healthcare professional am relieved beyond measure. Those struggling with obesity have been at a much greater risk during the past year of the the pandemic. It has been eye opening for many just how much of a risk obesity can be. I am cautiously optimistic that insurance companies will look at the facts, and understand that death rates have been highest amongst obese individuals. It is my hope, and a cause that I will continue to champion, that discrimination against those who are afflicted with the disease of obesity, are allowed treatment. To date, the best long term treatment for obesity is bariatric surgery. It is not an easy way out - it is a commitment requiring life time diet and exercise, but over the course of my 20 year career specializing in bariatric medicine, I've seen the benefits time and time again.
If you think bariatric surgery might be the right option for you, or if our non-surgical program seems like a better fit, please give my office a call. We can get you the information and answer any questions to get you started in your own journey into health. I sincerely mean it when I ask "How can I help?" We are all in a place of healing from this past year - and if obesity is your struggle, we have answers.
Stay healthy, stay safe and thank you for doing your part! We are almost there...
